Kaelin Friedenson

Kaelin Friedenson is a whitewater kayaker from Washington DC. He grew up on the banks of the Potomac River, where he learned to roll, did his first loop, and honed his skills into what they are today. His Dad, also a whitewater kayaker, introduced him to the sport at a very young age. They swam in the river, jumped off rocks, and Kaelin even rode on the back of his boat when he just a year old. When he turned 4, his Dad got him his own boat, and that's when it got really fun. Some of his greatest accomplishments include a final in Unleashed Uganda X when he was 14, in 2021 he won every junior event he entered when he was 18 including the Russell Fork Race, Green Race, Great Falls Race, and the ICF Junior World Championship in Slovenia for Kayak Cross. In that same year, he won the Grom of the Year award by Whitewater Awards. The next 3 years he was voted U21 paddler of the year (2021, 2022, 2023) by Kayak Session Magazine. In 2022 he finished 3rd at NFC and in 2023 he tied with Pat Keller for the youngest person ever to win The Green River Narrows Race at 20 years old.
